Can you help me solving a problem again?

binkysolving1Hi (furry)friends,

Today no EASY Monday for us,

because

we’re having WordPress problems again…

We’re running out of space

and Granny has transported a lot of posts

already to another blog

only to make space on this one…

binky solving2

but then we encounter another problem:

we lose our widgets on the sidebar…

AND my precious pictures…

binkysolving3

We have tried to find out

what we could do..

binkysolving4

but we can’t find the answer…

except that you can pay to upload your space…

Binkysolving

but that would mean,

that I have to find myself a job

…for my blog

binkysolving5

and in that case….

I won’t have time for my

beautysleepzzzzz…

binkysolving6

nor for my grooming…

and more impawtant stuff…

binkysolving7

So Please furry and unfurried friends,

can you tell me

what you do

to resolve this problem?

You know you’re getting

EXTRA PAWKISSES

for that 😉

STOP..

Just one more thing.

I gave Grandpa this yesterday

for Grandpa’s Day….

vaderdagsolving

Nice, huh 😀

The ideas of using Flickr for your pictures and looking for the unattached ones seem useful. We wish we could help you, but we cannot do better. We love the t-shirt ! Purrs

We have a lot of work to do, Roxy and Tigerlino. The problem is the size of the pictures, so now we have to make EFFURRY picture of EFFURRRY blog smaller…Aaaargh….hiss hiss… but then we can transport our transported posts back to this bloggie, so it has its benefits after all 🙂 Pawkisses for a Happy Day 🙂

I have free WP and I did purchase more space for photos as I used up the allotment for the free storage. I have very large photo files so I intend to take the time to make them smaller. Maybe I can save some space that way. I tried deleting photos only to realize that that caused my published blog posts to show without photos. I made a mess.

Oh, Savvy, that’s what Granny did too…Aaargh..hiss hiss…stressed out….We’ve got the advice to make the pictures smaller before uploading them on WordPress, or to put the pictures on flickr and uploading them from there with the html code. We haven’t tried that yet, because we have to make an Yahoo account, before we can sign up on flickr. Anyway, we started to make them smaller…but OMC…there’s a lot of work to be done now 🙂 Thanks for your input, Pal. Extra Pawkisses are on your way 🙂

Your lovely awards all appear to be on the blog still. Have you sorted things out already or are there still things missing? Lots of good suggestions above about reducing image size and/or using Flicr. Good luck Little B!

But, the good news, now we know how to do this, it will be a piece of cake in no time 😉 Thanks for the input. Extra Pawkisses for a Happy Day 🙂

I’m sorry Little Binky, I don’t know the answer 😦
Going forward, though, you can use less space by making photos smaller. Modern cameras produce very large photos – I usually use a simple photo editing program to make them a few hundred kB before uploading them, otherwise the space is gone before you know it.

That’s the answer, Draliman 🙂 The pictures are much to big. Granny and I didn’t know that. We don’t have any clue of pixels and bites..well, I know how to bite…anyway, I must get into technical business now. I learn so much here. We’ve started yesterday with the latest blog to make the pictures smaller and we have about 115 post to go and let the transported post where they are…it’s so much work, but it will be a piece of cake in no time. Thanks for your input. Here are Exra Pawkisses for you as promissed 🙂

Binky, I love your Paws and you are so famous that you have so many award images. May if you remove and store them someplace else and not at wordpress, that will free up some space. Also, before you upload some images, you may want to resizie them to smaller bytes. Good luck.

I’ve been researching tonight. Go to http://www.flickr.com and create a free account. Upload your photos there into different albums or however you want to organize them. Under each photo there is a way to grab the html code. You get that code and paste it in to the Add Media tab in your wordpress post. It worked when I tested it. It takes time, but you will get the hang of it.

G’day! I had WP.com and moved to a paid WP.org If people have the tech skill, they can move it from one to another. It is well worth it to pay WP.com to move everything in an orderly fashion; they stay with you for an additional two weeks should there be any problems or questions.
Otherwise, one will continue to run out of space and have to do what you are currently doing. Hope this helps and PAWKISSES!
    Cheers! Joanne

I love that shirt you gave your grandpa – but next year you should give him one with a dog on it. As far as space on your blog, I don’t know how to fix the filled up space except replace all your photos with the same ones but smaller files. That would be a lot of work. To keep from filling up the space on my blog my person changes the resolution of my photos to 72 ppi (pixels per inch) which is the best size for viewing on a screen – just not for printing. Then she reduces the width to 600 pixels and lets the height adjust accordingly. You have to do all this before uploading your photos to your blog. Hope this helps.

It definitely will help, Bongo. You are a genius 🙂 We started last night to resize the photos and Granny was very happy that you gave the number of pixels, because we don’t have any clue about this issues either…MOL… So now the pictures of my latest blog are resized and we have only 115 more blogs to go, that’s beside the other transported blogs…Aaargh… BUT the good news is, that it will be a piece of cake in the future. Thank you so much for your input, you’re such a good furriend 🙂 Here are the EXTRA PAWKISSES and, tell you what…the next shirt Grandpa gets will have your name on it 🙂 xoxo

    1. If you changed your theme, that’s where the problem arose. You have to reset the widgets back like in your old theme.
    2. Go to Media Library and check unattached images. You can delete them because they use space but unused in your posts. You can save them first offline before deleting them.
    Hope these help. 🙂
